Together for a dementia friendly Bruges

The Foton is of the first dementia expertise centre in Belgium, giving information, advice and training to professional caregivers and striving to strengthen the co-operation between all relevant partners in dementia-care, including volunteers. Activities include meeting afternoons, a choir, specialised dementia counselling and family care, seasonal celebrations and European and International undertakings. Together for a dementia-friendly Bruges! Is a long-term awareness-building project in which all relevant partners, such as healthcare services, socio-cultural associations, local businesses, educational organisation, public and private services, are invited to make an active contribution, both individually and through partnerships, to creating a dementia-friendly community. Foton is committed for further develop the project with the aim to infiltrate the city of Bruges and all its structures in order to create a climate where dementia is borne by the entire community

The course Dementia and now is aimed at family members and caregivers who are for a person with dementia at home or outside

The West Flemish expertise centres for dementia (ECD) reworked the narrative dementia d=for education. There are many stories that contains a varied range of game material, reading books and background information on the theme of dementia
